Terrell Tilford returns to Geffen Playhouse as the Creative Director for the Art Lives Here initiative. Audiences may remember Terrell in the lead role as Darren Lemming in Richard Greenberg's West Coast Premiere of Take Me Out, directed by Randall Arney. Recognized for his wide-ranging depth of roles in television and on the stage. He is also a social justice advocate for visual artists, having owned two fine art galleries in his near 30-year career. An M.F.A. graduate of Rutgers University and UC Berkeley, he has performed a titan of roles on stages from New York to Los Angeles, in award-winning productions as wide-ranging as August Wilson’s Two Trains Running, Stickfly, The Curse of Oedipus, Hamlet, Dutchman, 12 Angry Men, as the lead role of Darren Lemming in Richard Greenberg's Take Me Out at the Geffen Playhouse directed by Randall Arney, Yellowman at The McCarter, The Memorandum at The Guthrie, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, directed by Matt Shakman and the original cast production of The Exonerated, directed by Tim Robbins at The Actors' Gang. Terrell is also the Founder & Creative Director of Band of Vices art gallery in the West Adams district of Los Angeles, where he uses his platform on behalf of thought-provoking, fearless, and unapologetic artists. Bridging the gap between both the entertainment and arts community, he has curated the collections of some of Hollywood’s most esteemed artists and performers. He also served as the Curator for the Inaugural Exhibition of In The Paint, an initiative that was co-conceived by and hosted by the Los Angeles Lakers and most recently for Getty Museum's LA: In Dialogue exhibition.
